Probe ready for Venus

"Our prime objective is to study the processes that are going on inside Venus" Gerhard Schwehm, Esa's head of planetary missions told the BBC News website.



At 0817 BST, a European robotic craft began a 50-minute-long engine burn to slow its speed enough to be captured by Venus' gravity.
