A finger of Fudge

William Hague will pave the way to more co-operation with Brussels, littering a keynote speech in London with phrases such as “common action” and “mutual support”.



Hague said: “Britain’s place is in the European Union. A strong player in Europe, not at the margins.”

He makes no mention of Cameron's pledge - first made when he was lagging behind David Davis in the leadership contest, and reiterated days after he won - to withdraw the party's 27 Euro-MPs from the European People's Party (EPP), which is dedicated to ever closer EU integration.
