Captain Cuts

After spending months insisting that Labour would invest while the Conservatives cut, Crash Gordon finally conceded that he too will have to slash spending to reduce the deficit.



Speaking at the TUC Congress in Liverpool, Gordon Brown announced a string of sweeteners to soften up the unions ahead of expected announcements on cuts later in the Autumn.
